Ad Design Tips
Racer Guide is printed on newsprint. To achieve the highest quality reproduction, artwork or pre-printed ads should be created in the CMYK color format with a 300 dpi resolution.
Advertiser-supplied ads should be submitted as PDF files if possible. Racer Guide accepts ads in the following formats, in order of preference: PDF, EPS, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, PNG, TIFF, or JPG.
Racer Guide is unable to accept Microsoft Publisher files.
All photos should be at least at an effective 300 dpi at the size they will appear in the publication. This is best done by making photos/illustrations at a higher resolution to begin with. You can make a file bigger after the fact, but you can’t add detail after the fact.
All ads and graphics should be created as CMYK color documents rather than RGB. While it is difficult to tell the difference between CMYK and RGB by viewing an ad on a computer screen, it is not difficult to tell the difference once the ad is printed. Blacks will print as black in CMYK documents. Black will print in a grayish tone in RGB documents.
